Halloween
November 2, 2007 @ 10:17 AM | by zette | permalink

I had an excellent afternoon/evening last October 31st. It all started with just Marion and I meeting up at his house for mp3s. Marion texted Reyner and I texted Clariz and we all got together at Marion's house and spent over an hour chatting about a ripped anus and the complexities of being a woman (i.e. dysmenorrhea, childbirth, etc.) We then agreed to go to Jollibee-- no, Marion and I rather agreed and Reyner and Clariz didn't have a choice but to go along with us. Jeanni was arriving from Zamboanga right then and agreed to meet us at Jollibee, too. After eating, Jeanni asked us to go and visit Naning. It was so dark and spooky on our way to Naning's--we were reminded of the fact that it's Halloween and all. Naning's house was all closed up for the evening but she was there and our endless chat continued until... Earl arrived out of nowhere. Apparently, Reyner texted him and told him his whereabouts. But, it was all the more fun especially when Earl brought up our high school misadventures. I had to control myself from literally rolling-on-the-floor-laughing. What a night! We had fun like only witches could that night.

As usual, I spent All Saints' Day at the Lanote Cemetery. Forget being politically correct, it's tradition that prevails. You visit your loved ones' graves on that day and not on All Soul's Day. It was a cool day, I got to banter with my nieces, Miles (who's my age) and Vane (a month older than me).

This afternoon, I'll meet with the high school mates again. The sembreak is turning out to be great after all.

REJUVENATION DOES NOT SUIT ME.

I barely passed my Calculus class. Thank God I don't have repeat that subject.

My dad wants me to drop subjects I don't even have to take but taken just because I want to make the most of my scholarship. Screw him!

Yesterday, Marion sms-ed me; he wanted to come over and have a chat regarding his impending problem. I really wanted to have a chat since I had problems too and wanted to have someone to talk to but the house was a mess and it was cleaning day so I can't entertain him there. Marion said that he'd just sleep it over. At night, Earl sms-ed me. He was having one of those days (arguments, etc.) with his mother. We exchanged rants and exasperated sighs. So what is my problem?! My dad passed me another insult. He passes insults more than praises, that's Toffee Ceniza for you. I hated him so much that time. I was plotting the most horrendous tortures for him. If only thoughts could kill. AND another bundle of illegitimacy has arrived, on Pupung's birthdate (November 4th) no less. I can't even remember my mother's death anniversary sometimes and here I'm doomed to never forget that this... thing(?!) birthdate. What a shame to ever exist in such a situation. I want to mourn for him but my turn is up. I have no tears to shed anymore. My tear ducts are dry.

Classes for the second semester are about to start tomorrow. I share Che's fright in what lies ahead. But I can't afford to falter anymore. Not if I want to get away from my dad's grasp as soon as possible. I just want to get away from him as far as I can. I can't tolerate any more of his blunderings. It's just too much.

 EYESHIELD 21

Eyeshield 21 is an anime series with a positive message, teaching children the importance of teamwork, overcoming obstacles and having goals in life.

The plot of Eyeshield 21 revolves around a shy, unassuming boy named Sena Kobayakawa. In the first episode Sena is accepted to Deimon High School where he is hoping for a fresh start; shedding his previous image of the “errand boy” who was relentlessly bullied. To make new friends at school, Sena considers joining the schools football team, the “Deimon Devil Bats”. During tryouts, the teams coach is astounded by Sena's super-amazing speed and dodging techniques and is immediately persuaded to join the team. For fear that another schools football team may try to recruit Sena, the coach assigns him the job of team secretary, concealing his invaluable skills. When the “secret weapon” is needed Sena enters the football field wearing a helmet equipped with a green tinted eyeshield; masking his true identity; the game begins. With the unbelievable talent of the faceless player, only known as Eyeshield 21, and with the hand of teammates, victory awaits.

Eyeshield 21 follows the growth and determination of the Deimon Devil Bats football team as well as its rivals.

SAIUNKOKU MONOGATARI (Color Cloud Palace)

The story, which takes place in the fictional medieval empire of Saiunkoku, follows the adventures of Shūrei Kō, a descendant of a noble family that has fallen on hard times.

Her father works as a librarian in the Imperial palace, a post which offers prestige and respect, but little compensation. Shūrei teaches in the temple school and works odd jobs to make ends meet, but her dream is to pass the imperial examinations and take a post in government, a path forbidden to women.

Shūrei's plans come to an abrupt halt when the Emperor's Grand Advisor makes a startling offer, which is joining the imperial household for six months as the young Emperor's consort, and teach the Emperor to be a responsible ruler. If she succeeds, the financial reward will be great.

The story details Shūrei's growing relationships with the Emperor and other members of the court, the intrigues that surround imperial politics, and her commitment to better herself and her country.

These are two of my favorite animés. Hope you can watch them!

I downloaded this song from LimeWire thinking it was a song from High School Musical 2. I was wrong (It was sung by Corbin Bleu ft. Vanessa Hudgens for his solo album.) but it turned out to be a very good song. It's a duet but I dedicate it as a solo to my mom.

"Still There For Me"
(Corbin Bleu feat. Vanessa Hudgens)

[Corbin]
Lately I've been thinking
About the things that we've been through
And I don't know if I'd be here,
If not for you

I had to take a little time
To try to work things out
And you should know that
I have never meant
To let you down

[Both]
[Chorus]
Cause I, I
Wanna tell you that I'm sorry
And I, I
Even when I'm not giving enough
And I'm taking too much
You're still there for me
Even when I got nothing at all
And I'm ready to fall
You're still there for me
There for me
There for me

Even when I can't be there for you
You're always there for me

[Vanessa]
Sometimes I know I can be
So hard to understand (It's ok)
Even when I'm lost
You show me who I really am
Life with me hasn't always been an easy ride
But because of you I've learned

To lose my selfish pride

[Both]
[Chorus]
Cause I, I
Wanna tell you that I'm sorry
And I, I
Even when I'm not giving enough
And I'm taking too much
You're still there for me
Even when I got nothing at all
And I'm ready to fall
You're still there for me
There for me
There for me

Even when I can't be there for you
Oh you're always there for me yeah

Oh no it's love
Ooooouuhhh (Oooohhh)
It must be love
Ooohhh
It's gotta be real love (It's gotta be real love)

Even when I'm not giving enough
And I'm taking too much
You're still there for me
Even when I got nothing at all
And I'm ready to fall
You're still there for me
There for me
There for me

Even when I can't be there for you (When I can't be there)
Even when I can't be there for you
You're always there for me

Coming Soon
November 24, 2007 @ 11:22 AM | by zette | permalink

It's five days until Ateneo Fiesta '07 kicks in but before all the hullaballoo of games and activities here and there, there are a few upcoming events I would like to note, too.

There's the Championship Round of Square-Off: Philippine Debate Championships featuring our very own Ateneo de Zamboanga vs fellow eagles, Ateneo de Manila. Henry and Al have come a long way beating PUP, UP-Manila and UP-Diliman. I'm scared for them. I mean, this is it! If they win against ADMU, they get to represent the Philippines in Thailand for the World Debate Championships and not to mention, exclusive bragging rights! HAHA If you can spare the time, watch it on the ABS-CBN News Channel, Wednesday (November 28) at 8PM.

Joyce will celebrate her 19th birthday on November 29th. It's the first time her birthday didn't coincide with the Fiesta. For the past two years, it's always Joyce's birthday = Ateneo Fiesta. What do I give her? I gave her half-a-pound of Symphony, her favorite chocolates last year. She's always been vocal about her love for butterflies! Hmmm...

Speaking of birthdays, I only have less than two months of teenager-hood left. How was it been the last seven years of it?! Let me talk about it in the next post. I think it deserves an altar of its own.

How's school?! Okay for now, I guess.

I've got to split. I'm going to watch Enchanted for the third time this week. The first time, I watched it twice. This time, I'm watching it with Che. It's cool--a homage to Disney films but don't get me wrong, it still stands on its own. Amy Adams sings great. James Marsden, too.
