Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist
Norah:
There's this part of Judaism that I like. Tikun Olam. It said that the
world is broken into pieces and everyone has to find them and put them
back together.
Nick:
Maybe we don't have to find it. Maybe we are the pieces.
Norah:
Nick? I'm coming in...
---
[last lines]
Norah:
Are you sad that we missed it?
Nick:
We didn't miss it. This *is* it. Come on. Let's go home.
[they kiss]
Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging
Georgia Nicolson: If you haven't noticed I am a woman now. I wear a bra!
---
Robbie:
I wrote a song about you.
Georgia Nicolson:
Really?!
Robbie:
Yeah. It's called "Bitch in Uniform".
Slumdog Millionaire

Police Inspector:
Doctors... Lawyers... never get past 60 thousand rupees. He's won 10 million.
[pause]
Police Inspector:
What can a slumdog possibly know?
Jamal Malik:
[quietly] The answers.
---
Jamal Malik:
I knew you'd be watching.
Latika:
I thought we would meet only in death.
Jamal Malik:
This is our destiny.
Latika:
Kiss me.
TV/Movies/Music | 2 hollered back
I turned 21 a month ago and the idea is starting to sink in.
I am broke. Well, not really but you see, turning 21 means the end of my mom's monthly pension.
At first, I planned to "save it for the future" but that didn't work out since there are a lot of things I just got to have and thus spend unmercilessly for. I still have some savings and it has been untouched for the last 13 years--I think--but now I have to spend some of it for the manga I ordered from Rizza. I don't like to swear that it will be the last time I'll ever withdraw from that account for now but it will be--it has to be.
This means that I have to say goodbye to eBay, Multiply and Rizza after that purchase and start to save to pay up for the money I used. I can't wait to graduate and get a job. (Er, Zette... guilty much?!)
Anyway, that's that. I also have to stop buying DVDs and books on a whim which means I say goodbye to piracy and thrift/pre-loved book shops or at least cut down.
Just two days ago, I saw this Japanese language book and bought it right away.
Save me.

I enjoyed this year's Oscars.
Slumdog Millionaire won big--8 OSCARS! Best Cinematography, Best Sound Mixing, Best Film Editing, Best Original Song (Jai Ho by A.R. Rahman and Gulzar), Best Musical Score (A.R. Rahman), Best Adapted Screenplay (Simon Beaufoy), Best Director (Danny Boyle), and Best Picture.
I just wished Dev Patel and Frieda Pinto took the stage and danced as Jai Ho was being presented in true Bollywood fashion.
Kate Winslet won for Best Actress (The Reader) and Sean Penn won for Best Actor (Milk). Which make me think that I really should get to watching those movies.
Penélope Cruz won Best Supporting Actress (Vicky Cristina Barcelona) and Heath Ledger won Best Supporting Actor (The Dark Knight).
I love Hugh Jackman. I love the opening number with Anne Hathaway.

QUIPS on the Runway, er, Red Carpet
What the hell was Miley Cyrus wearing?!
I didn't like what Sarah Jessica Parker was wearing either. Even though it IS Dior Haute Couture.
Kate Winslet dresses very well.
I liked Natalie Portman's dress. Anne Hathaway's was too flashy for me but it was nice.
